Who can join PTO?
All parents/guardians with a child at the Chisago Lakes Primary or Lakeside Schools are automatically members of the PTO.  Plus, all associated teachers and administrators are also automatically members.

Why should I join PTO?
Information- Learn school news directly from teachers and administrators at monthly meetings.  Talk to your child’s teacher in a less structured and relaxed environment.
Communication- Monthly PTO meetings are a great place to ask questions or share ideas to enhance our school community.
Participation- PTO provides various ways for parents to get involved.  All PTO members can vote on how funds are spent- it’s great to have a voice when investing in your child’s education.

Do I have to be a volunteer to be a member of PTO?
No, we strive to include all types of parents in our organization.  However, if you would like to volunteer, we will find a way to fit your interest or skill.  We will match the amount of time you would like to contribute to our volunteer opportunities.  Volunteers are the backbone of the PTO.  Nothing can be done without YOU!

Why should I get involved in CLPTO?
CLPTO is a great way for you to get involved in enhancing your child’s education!
Come to our meetings and listen to the principals’ report, it is always exciting and interesting to hear what is going on at your students school.
CLPTO provides the communication link between parents and our school staff which we all need!

What happens at a PTO meeting?
School principals and teacher representatives give an update to the group.  We also learn how various committees are progressing.  We discuss disbursement requests and members vote on funding.  The meetings tend to be 60 to 90 minutes, but attendees do not have to stay for the duration.
